“I had to do a lot of waiting for a sky that I thought was perfect to paint for this Art Dare. After walking outside at sunset on vacation in Germany, I saw this amazing sunset and immediately had to take a picture so I could paint it later. The texture, cloud layers and colors of the sunset made it very interesting to paint.”

“A lot of this came with trial and error. I used a photo I found as a guide on what I would be drawing and decided which colors are the lightest, or which colors are the most used (including the underlying colors). I then use these colors to draw a very general shape, in this case whatever form the cloud took.

After that, I proceeded with adding bits of color and bits of light and shadow. If there was anything I didn’t like, I just simply undid it. (This is the beauty of digital art.)”

1 prize winner will win a 36 piece set of Tombow 1500 Series Colored Pencils and a Tombow MONO Drawing Pencil Set!
