Artist Statement
“I’m currently a senior in high school as an international student. I will be attending an art school this fall for college.
I chose gouache paint to be the media of this piece since I wanted to practice on my painting skills; especially with human gesture and the shading of fabrics. Gouache is easy to use at home since I didn’t have access to oil paint.
This piece was inspired by my own sketchbook since I just started to have the habit of live drawing. When I finished six paintings, I added the motif of yarn to connect all six panels. This piece is a self-directed project I did for fun outside of class as it also became one of the funny little gifts I share with my friends.”
