MFA Survey

At Art Prof, we have lots of resources to support students preparing a portfolio to apply for BFA programs,  but we’re interested in developing new content to support artists applying for MFA programs.

The number of people applying for MFA degrees keeps increasing, but there is very little content online to support people applying for an MFA. Consequently, many MFA candidates struggle with getting professional guidance on how to go about their application. If you’re here on this page, you probably know what we are talking about!

We’re looking for you to share your own experience with the MFA process so that others can get the support they need in what is frequently a confusing and challenging process.

Please know that by filling out this survey, you are granting us permission to use the exact text of your survey responses on our site.

When we use your exact text, we will use quotation marks so that it is clear the text was not written by our staff, however we will not add specific names to accompany each block of text. We will post your name and link to you website or Instagram on the MFA section under “Contributors.”

We will have articles in an MFA section on the site, where we will draw content from your survey responses, however in this case, we would not use your exact text.

If you have any questions about the process, please contact us!

If you are willing to let us post your MFA portfolio, please share your portfolio images via Google Drive like this:

1.  Create a folder in Google Drive and name it with your first and last name.

2. Upload up to 20 images into that folder.

3. If you have video, please create a Google doc in your folder that has links to your videos.

4.  Right click on your folder, and select “Get Shareable Link.”  Copy the link.

Please use the checkbox below to indicate that you have read our Terms and Conditions.
