Free Portfolio Critique Submission Form

Submit to have your art portfolio critiqued LIVE on the Art Prof YouTube channel with Prof Lieu and one of our Teaching Artists.

Whether you’re applying to a BFA or MFA program, working independently as an artist, or currently enrolled in a degree program, a portfolio critique is a great way to get a fresh pair of eyes on your work. Watch the videos above for an example of what the video would be like.

We love it when the artist can join us live in the chat during the critique, but it’s not required.  If you are selected and can’t watch your critique live, you can always watch the portfolio critique afterwards. We will review submissions on first come, first serve basis.

There is no fee to participate!

Preparing your portfolio

Please read through this entire form first before you start preparing your materials. When you are ready to submit the form, have your required information ready. We recommend writing your statement elsewhere first so that you have a copy of it in case anything happens as you are filling out the form.

Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis.

We also offer private portfolio critiques for a fee, artist calls and chats, and have a free Complete Art School Portfolios Guide.

Submission of plagiarized artworks will not be tolerated.

All artwork submitted must be original. If we discover at any point that your artwork was plagiarized, your submission will be disqualified and you will no longer be eligible to participate in any Art Prof video content in the future. Plagiarism is a serious offense and we do not take it lightly. For more information on plagiarism, copyright, and art ethics, please watch the videos in this playlist.

8-10 high res images of your portfolio artworks. If you have 3D artwork, you can submit up to 3 images of that 1 artwork. It's okay if you don't feel your portfolio is 100% polished, in fact, feedback is much more useful and impactful if you get it earlier in the process when you will have time to make changes, and/or shift your approach.

Our decision making process will not necessarily based on who has the "best" or most polished portfolio, rather we are looking for portfolios that will provide good teaching moments that people watching our videos can benefit from.
