What is Art Basel Miami?
Art Basel is a series of contemporary art fairs that occurs in Paris, Miami Beach, Qatar, Hong Kong, and Basel. Galleries pay very high fees (think $100k) to rent a booth. They show a selection of artists, or sometimes a solo presentation of 1 artist.
Art Basel Miami is a part of Miami art week, where local museums and galleries host parties, lectures, and other events. There are other fairs like Untitled, Scope, and NADA happening as well.
You saw me go to the Armory Show in NYC, and guess what — Art Basel Miami is WAY bigger: the largest contemporary art fair in North America.
Everyone in the art world shows up to these art fairs: collectors, curators, museum directors, auctioneers, high end galleries, and artists from all over the world.
Topics
Due to my professional contacts, I’ll be able to share insider knowledge on the contemporary art world. There is very little genuine information on this world, which is extremely opaque.
My goal is to show my work at a well regarded gallery in NYC. You’ll get to see the nitty gritty of what actions I’m taking. I’ll discuss in great depth my own strategies for breaking into a high end gallery and networking.
This part of the art world really is a whole other universe, with its own etiquette and culture. I’ll provide accurate info on how collectors, curators, gallerists roll.

My Gallery Plan
You can see my study plan which shows my research on galleries I’m targeting. Below is an Art Club video when I first started this process 6 months ago.
Casey Kaplan, Lehmann Maupin and Alexander Grey are reach galleries, but I want to a vibe check anyway!
I spoke to Alisan Fine Arts at the Armory show, and am looking forward to following up with them.
Latitude Gallery I have spoken to twice at their location in NYC, and I filmed 2 videos with Rajiv Menon at his Los Angeles gallery.

Live Streams
I’ll do live streams before and after the fair, where you can ask questions and we can chat about contemporary art. These live streams will not show up on our YouTube channel.
Live streams links will be posted in #new-videos. If you can’t find it, just ask in the channels and someone will help.
We will do at least 1 live stream in Miami, perhaps more. We will do at least 1 live stream, maybe more depending on what’s going on.
We will not be able to announce in advance when a live stream happens, but that there will be a replay that I will post in #new-videos channel.
