The Hospital Collection – Hospitals are great places for reading.
Bookmark I – outpatienting, yo – This comes from an experience when I was at the hospital and the nurses/staff from the main floor saw me and asked what I was doing there, since I wasn’t on their floor.
Bookmark II – Hospital Times – This bookmark honors those parts of hospital stays that aren’t that bad – where you can catch up on your reading, for example.
Summer Reading! 5 Booksmarks in outrageously fun color.
Bookmark I – Fluoro Damask – made with cricut, painted with straight fluorescent highlighter ink.
Bookmark II – To the 8 Yr Old Dana Scully – (Dana Scully is the female lead in The X-Files, where she plays a medical doctor hired to debunk the
Bookmark III – Busy Reading – I learned how to braid ribbons for this one. It is a horizontal bookmark so that you can mark the paragraph where you stop. The beads on the tail glow & say “Busy Reading”.
Bookmark IV – Aloha, Summer Reading! – This was another exploration in ribbon braiding. T
Bookmark V – Medieval Manuscript Cat – Alcohol marker, micron pen, gold fabric paint & gold mica ink.
Honorable Mention
Bookmarks are a wonderful way to create little works of art when you’re short on time.
I decided to use paper for the design. That’s how the origami girls came about. Then it was time to work on the backgrounds. Sumi-e paints work well on watercolour paper, and it has enough stability for a bookmark.
