“For my piece I chose the artist Ibeyi. They are French, Afro-cuban twins who make afro- spiritual mixed with R&B vibes.
I chose to re-think their first album, I listen to all their songs again and tried to corporate some culture aspect of theirs which I felt was strongly rooted in their blackness whether Afro-Cuban or Afro-French.
I used watercolor for this piece because I felt accurately translate’s my vision.”

“I made a poster for the movie Meet the Robinsons this is one of my favorite movies partly because of its message ‘Keep Moving Forward’ which in the movies means that no matter what happens or what mistakes you make, you need to keep moving forward.
Mistakes are not something that you should be ashamed of, you should see them instead as an extremely valuable learning experience. I tried to capture the chaos that happens in the movie and still keep the lighthearted vibe.
I was inspired by 60s graphic design and typical action movies posters. I used watercolor and colored pencil to complete this piece. I didn’t finish everything that I had planned and although not everything went as I wanted it too, I had fun doing what I love and took the advice of the movie and just kept moving forward. I hope you enjoy!”
