You’ll find resources and information art supplies for this workshop here.
Some people like to brush up on your skills and prep in advance of the live session. This is optional, you can show up to the live session without looking at these resources.

There is an *asterix near resources that I think are the most helpful.
For supplies, you can use anything you want! We provide options if you need them.

Media
- There are some combinations where certain media will not adhere to the layer below.
- For example, you can’t draw with colored pencils over crayon, but it’s okay the other way around.
- Test the combinations before you spend a lot of time on a piece.
- Media like oil pastels work great on top of a range of media, but they should be the final layer.

- You can use oil or water mixable oils, but they have to be the final layer. (you don’t want to put acrylic over oils)
- Experiment with combining media, here are some of our favorites.

Surfaces
- Be sure to use a surface that is rigid enough to handle wet media.
- In general paper for drawing is too thin.
- Some mixed media papers can work, but they should be on the thick side.

- Mat board is nice and sturdy, and you can try colored mat boards too.
- Watercolor blocks: cold press is rough, hot press is smooth.
- Canvas boards and artist panels work well. Note that canvas boards can warp sometimes.
