“The title of this piece is “The Cake is a Lie” because my partner actually does not do cake and we don’t eat cake on his birthdays.
Instead we usually plan a little vacation where the landscape has a lot of nature, even if most of the days we want to relax and not hike. If we do go on a hike, it’s on a flat trail with mushrooms.”

“I wanted to work on this art dare to practice doing a more comic inked style illustration, as well as tell a story through drawings and colour.
For this piece I used reference photos of myself and my stuffed animals, used transfer paper for penciling, inked with a brush and pen on bristol paper, and lastly I painted it with watercolour.”
